Material Citizenship Workshop
To achieve a successful and long-lasting organisational change, it is important that all staff understand and share the same vision. This workshop provides delegates with information on what Material Citizenship is, where it originates from, why it is important to staff, residents and relatives, the impacts it has and how to embed it within existing organisational practice and policy.
The workshop invites you to consider the mechanisms needed to deliver a successful change in practice by drawing on scientific evidence and industry practice.
Material Citizenship Train the Trainer Programme
The Material Citizenship Trainer programme equips in-house training staff with the skills to deliver Material Citizenship Skills Enhancement Programme to all care home staff.
The course introduces the concept of Material Citizenship, why it is important to dementia care and how to include this in everyday care practices. It also explores the importance of recording Material Citizenship in practice and why this is beneficial to staff, residents, relatives, external health care professionals and regulators.
Consultancy, Evaluation and Research
Cultural change is most successful when you have a good understanding of the difference between the culture you currently have, and the culture you are trying to build. Clear and objective measurement is one common feature of successful cultural change programmes.
To embed Material Citizenship, it is crucial staff feel confident to implement the changes required. Whilst this can be supported by verbal support from the management team, it is important to embed the change in organisational
documents such as brochures, websites, resident information packs, organisational policies, practice documents and care plans. We will work with you to ensure this is achieved.

We will provide you with meaningful information to help you understand how Material Citizenship has improved care practice in your organisation.
For example, the way in which Material Citizenship is implemented provides important insights into care practices, quality of life, staff confidence, attitudes and values and the learning and development needs of staff.
